Welcome

You may have heard of Wembley church of Christ, or just come across this website by accident, and wondered who we are. If you are curious to know more about us, just take a few minutes to browse this website.

Ordinary People

If you visit us you will find that we are just ordinary people from many walks of life. We come from different social backgrounds. We come from different countries and places. We come from different family backgrounds. We are of different ages. We have different jobs. Yet we are united by our faith in Jesus Christ as our saviour. For this reason we meet together to worship God, study the Bible and share with others the joy we have found in Jesus Christ.

Who We Are

We are Christians only. We are non-denominational and have no earthly head or headquarters. We have no organisation other than independent congregations. Each congregation governs itself under the authority of Jesus Christ and by His words in the New Testament. We strive to worship and practice our faith with the simplicity and sincerity that we read about in the New Testament. We call ourselves a church of Christ because it denotes our desire to belong to none other than Christ and it is one of the phrases we find in the New Testament to refer to the congregations of God's people (Matthew 16:18 ; Romans 16:16).

Sharing The Good News

The Bible contains a message of good news for all people and we seek to share that good news with others. Our greatest need is for salvation from our sins and we believe that God, through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ, has provided for the forgiveness of our sins and our eternal well being.
[ Romans 3:23; I Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 1:7; 2:1-10]
Our response to God's provision for our salvation must be to have faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, repent of our sins (change the direction of our lives), acknowledge our faith in Jesus Christ and be baptised (immersed) into water to receive the forgiveness of our sins, the gift of the Holy Spirit and to be added into Christ's church Acts 2:37 - 42 . In this way we enter into a new relationship with God and His Son and we begin a new life in Jesus Christ.
